There are these frequent days in our fast lives, when we want to eat some thing yummy and delicious putting bare minimum efforts.
This happens too often with me when I don’t want to order from outside yet want delicious dishes on my plate with optimum resources in very short time. As either I have a meeting to attend in another 30 minutes or some unfinished task that demands immediate attention.
This simple homestyle dahi Chicken is a favourite at my mom’s place; it’s easy, simple and gets ready in a jiffy
More importantly it can be enjoyed even if you are on a diet!

♥️The recipe of homestyle dahi chicken for you :
🔹INGREDIENTS:
▪️200 gms of boneless chicken cubes
▪️100 gms dahi(yoghurt)
▪️1 thinly sliced onion
▪️smooth paste of 1 onion, 6-7 garlic cloves, 11 black peppercorns, salt, 1green chilli
▪️1.5 tablespoon white oil
▪️black pepper powder
▪️salt as per taste
🔹PROCEDURE
▪️Marinate the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon of dahi, 1 tablespoon of onion paste, 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper powder, (optional : pinch of turmeric and Garam masala powder ). Keep it on fridge for minimum 1hour.
▪️Heat oil in wok. Add 2/3 black pepper corns
▪️Add sliced onions. Fry till translucent
▪️Add the remaining onion-garlic-Pepper mixture and fry well
▪️Beat the remaining dahi well, and keep aside
▪️once the onion mix gets fried and the raw smell vanishes add the marinated chicken , keep the flame at high for 5-7minutes. Then cook in low flame
▪️Add the beaten yoghurt after 10 mins
▪️Adjust salt and pepper as per your taste
▪️No spices required
▪️Cook till the chicken gets cooked
▪️The gravy should be of medium consistency, not too runny, not too dry
▪️Enjoy with hot steamed rice!
